April 15: Concrete removals begin at the Chicago-Lake Transit Center
Emerson/Fremont & Lowry Ave. work will begin the week of April 19:

Construction will include station platforms, new sidewalk, new pedestrian signals, utility work, and new street pavement.

The intersections will be partially closed starting April 15, with lane closures in place for up to four months.

April 15- Crews are completing curb and gutter work at the intersection of Chicago Ave. & Franklin Ave.
Chicago & 14th Street

Construction includes station platforms, new sidewalk, new pedestrian signals, utility work, and new street pavement.

The intersection was fully closed April 7 and will be closed for one month. The intersection will be reopened in early May followed by several months of lane closures.

Concrete removals have been completed. Utility work and water/hydrant work are underway and will be completed next week.

All Route 5 service is detoured off of Chicago between downtown Minneapolis and 42nd Ave.
Southbound buses will travel on Chicago to 9th St., right on 9th St., left on Portland, left on 42nd St., right on Chicago and resume regular route.
Northbound buses will travel on Chicago to 42nd St., left on 42nd St., right on Park, right on 8th St., left on Chicago, left on 7th St. and resume regular route.
