Minnesota's Budget Outlook Improves

State projects $1.871 billion forecast balance; $1.206 billion after allocations to reserves and repayments

 

ST. PAUL, Minn.—Minnesota’s budget outlook has improved from previous estimates despite a weaker economic outlook. Minnesota Management and Budget now projects a forecast balance of $1.871 billion, up from $865 million at the end of session.  $665 million is allocated to reserves and repayments, leaving an available balance of $1.206 billion for fiscal year 2016-17.

Minnesota Management and Budget Commissioner Myron Frans, State Economist Dr. Laura Kalambokidis, and State Budget Director Margaret Kelly will review details of the State of Minnesota November Budget and Economic Forecast later today:
