Registration is now open for the 2025 Minnesota Commercial Tobacco Prevention and Control Conference, to be held April 7-8, 2025, in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The theme, “Resilient Together: Adapting to the Evolving Landscape of Commercial Tobacco,” underscores our collective commitment to innovation and resilience in the face of change.
The following public health partners are encouraged to attend:
- Commercial tobacco prevention and control practitioners
- State, local, and Tribal public health staff
- Partner organizations and grantees
- People who work on substance use prevention
Conference objectives
By the end of the conference, participants will:
- Understand how past commercial tobacco efforts shape our future goals, while exploring new ideas.
- Feel inspired and connect with others working towards smoke-free communities.
- Discover successful strategies and promising practices, especially by communities most affected by commercial tobacco use.
- Recognize the unequal effects of commercial tobacco use on different groups and learn inclusive strategies to address these issues.

Call for abstracts
Abstracts are still being accepted in the following areas:
- Communications, Evaluation, and Surveillance
- Health Equity
- Commercial Tobacco Treatment Interventions and Health Systems Engagement
- Addressing Commercial Tobacco and Nicotine Industry Influence
- Commercial Tobacco Policy, Laws, and Regulations
- Youth and Young Adults
Presentation formats

Breakout Session: Designed as 60-minute panels with a single abstract, topic, and focus. Typically, breakout sessions feature 2-3 presenters and allow 10-15 minutes for questions and discussion. Proposed speakers may also submit individual presentations on the same topic.

Individual Presentation: Designed as a 15–20-minute presentation by a single speaker on a single topic. Individual presenters will be grouped with others into a 60-minute session.
All proposals will be evaluated based on content and measurable objectives. Submission of an abstract does not guarantee inclusion in the conference. The review committee reserves the right to reassign accepted abstracts to different categories than those selected during submission.
Abstracts will be accepted through January 31, 2025.
