Apply Now! Speech Language Pathologist & Audiologist License Renewals due May 31

During the 2022 renewal period, your license remains valid.

Renewal Application Information

  • Renewal applications for the Speech Language Pathologist and/or Audiologists are due May 31, 2022.
  • Renewal applications are reviewed in the order that they are received.
  • Renewal application information is updated as licenses are approved. The Minnesota Department of Health is working to finalize the nearly 600 applications as soon as possible.
  • After May 31, 2022, Speech Language Pathologist and/or Audiologist licenses with submitted renewal applications remain valid pending an application review that meets licensing requirements which includes consent to a criminal background check.

My license is showing on the licensing verification page. Is my license still valid?

  • Until May 31, 2021, Speech Language Pathologist and/or Audiologist licenses are displayed on the credentialing webpage. After May 31, Speech Language Pathologist and/or  Audiologist licenses will be updated as the renewal applications are approved.
  • We are working to approve the nearly 600 applications submitted each renewal period. Your license remains valid pending completion of a background check and an application review that meets licensing requirements.

Is my background study required for the renewal application?

  • During the peacetime emergency, the requirement for background studies for Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) providers was waived. The Department of Human Services (DHS) resumed processing background studies for MDH providers as of March 2, 2022. Any Speech Language Pathologists and/or Audiologists who have not already completed a full fingerprint background study will need to complete one during their next renewal period or when submitting an initial or temporary license application.
