New Minnesota Vaccine Incentives: Your Shot for Summer
Today, Governor Tim Walz announced a vaccine incentive program called “Your Shot for Summer.”
The campaign comes in support of getting 70% of Minnesotans 16 years of age and older vaccinated by July 1. The first 100,000 Minnesotans who get their first shot between May 27 and June 30 will be able to choose the incentive of their preference from a wide-ranging list of options, including state parks passes, fishing licenses, and tickets to various summer attractions and events.
Vaccinated people can claim their prize starting June 1 through June 30. Reward requests must be submitted to the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) by 11:59 p.m. on June 30, 2021. Vaccine information will be subject to verification by MDH. Information on the program, including verification of the first dose and reward options can be found at: State of Minnesota: Summer Vaccine Rewards. Minnesotans can also register through the MDH COVID-19 Public Hotline by calling 1-833-431-2053.
Vaccine providers will not have to do anything. The person who is vaccinated would be responsible for applying for an incentive. As expected by CDC, continue providing every patient with a fully filled out vaccination card—this will also help patients when they apply for their incentive.
Thank you for what you are doing to get Minnesotans vaccinated!
