Every Minnesotan age 16 years and older is eligible to receive a vaccine.

Minnesota has directed providers to prioritize vaccine appointments for people most at risk of getting COVID-19, or those who could develop severe illness if infected. This includes older Minnesotans, those with underlying health conditions, and those in frontline essential jobs.

Learn more about priority groups here: Who's Getting Vaccinated?.

What happens now?

As appointments become available near you, the Vaccine Connector will send you updates about when and where you may be able to get a vaccine.

You do not need to wait for the Vaccine Connector to get a shot. To find an appointment:

  • Use the Vaccine Locator Map to find vaccine providers near you.
  • Use the CDC Vaccine Finder to find pharmacy appointments near you.
  • Contact your primary health care provider or a local pharmacy.
  • Your employer may also reach out with information about vaccination opportunities.

You may also be selected to make an appointment at one of the state’s COVID-19 Community Vaccination Program locations. If you are selected, you will be notified by text, email, or phone call by one of the vaccination partners running those sites: Vault Health, Primary Bio or SpeciaLysts (Solv).

Please note that people age 16 and 17 are only able to receive the Pfizer vaccine. The Pfizer vaccine is currently the only COVID-19 vaccine authorized for people age 16 and older.

How to stay safe:

While more Minnesotans are being vaccinated, it is still very important to continue taking easy steps to slow the spread of COVID-19:

Get vaccinated at the first opportunity you have. After you’ve had your shot, continue following these safe practices to protect your neighbors while they wait for their vaccine.
