Minnesota News and Outreach

Today, Governor Walz announced a new State of Minnesota website and dashboard to provide Minnesotans with data and information that drives the response to COVID-19. The website includes data and statistics as well as information on what to do if you are sick, when to seek medical attention, news and actions from the Governor's office, and other resources. Visit Coronavirus Disease in Minnesota for more information.

We will continue to update the Situation Update for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) page daily on the MDH website.

Yesterday, Governor Walz announced that Minnesota’s health plans have agreed to waive cost-sharing for treatment of COVID-19. Minnesotans with commercial insurance—including individuals, small businesses, and some large businesses—are now eligible for these benefits that remove barriers to coverage. For more information, see After Call from Governor Walz, Minnesota Health Plans to Waive COVID-19 Related Expenses.

Playdates

Pass on the playdates

Limiting contact as much as possible is key to slowing the spread of COVID-19. While school is out, children should not have playdates with children from other households. If children are playing outside, it's important to always maintain a distance of 6 feet from anyone who lives in another household.

Child Care Grants

The application process for emergency grants for licensed child care providers serving essential workers during the COVID-19 public health emergency is open. For more information, visit Child Care Aware of Minnesota: Peacetime Emergency Child Care Grants.
