Farm to School grant application

AGRI Farm to School Grants support Minnesota school districts that want to process and serve Minnesota agricultural products. Grants are intended to:

  • Help create plans that identify specific equipment, tools, training, or policies that school districts need
  • Help schools buy equipment they need to buy, prepare, and serve more Minnesota grown and raised food

Deadline for this grant is Nov. 1. Apply on the Minnesota Department of Agriculture website.


Tobacco retail educators community

Resources for tobacco retail educators

The Community for Tobacco Retail Educators is for federal, state and local tobacco control professionals who educate retailers about the laws governing tobacco sales. It provides a web-based forum to:

  • Network with peers
  • Discuss best practices
  • Share upcoming events
  • Distribute information
  • Exchange materials and resources

Apply for SRTS planning in your community

Planning grants for Safe Routes available

Minnesota communities and schools wanting to develop safer routes for students to walk and bicycle to school can apply for planning assistance grants through MnDOT's Safe Routes to School program.

Application deadline is Jan. 4, 2019. Planning assistance grants are the first step for communities to assess their current conditions for walking and bicycling to school and decide what they need to strategically and effectively implement a Safe Routes to School programs.

Center for Tobacco Products youth campaign

Youth campaign sending posters to U.S. High Schools

The Center for Tobacco Products is shipping its “The Real Cost” campaign youth e-cigarette prevention posters to more than 10,000 high schools in the U.S.

They are also distributing these posters through Students Against Destructive Decisions, or S.A.D.D. Later in the year, posters will be available to order from the Center for Tobacco Products Exchange Lab.

Tobacco training and TA evaluation

Survey for all tobacco SHIP staff

The Tobacco Prevention and Control Unit at MDH needs your help to evaluate tobacco training and technical assistance provided to SHIP and TFC grantees.

We ask that SHIP staff who work on tobacco and all TFC staff complete the survey by Friday, Nov. 2.
