MIECHV Evaluation Updates from Wilder Research - March 2017
Parent interviews
are complete! MDH and Wilder Research would like to thank all of the Maternal Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV)
staff who have worked on making this happen. We have completed and exceeded our
goal of 300 parent interviews with at least one from each site. Of the 322
completed interviews, approximately 40% were completed with parents in Greater
Minnesota and the other 60% were completed with parents in the 7-county Metro Area.
Interviews
with referral sources are also complete! Wilder Research started calling referral
sources for phone interviews in late December. A total of 27 interviews were
completed. The referral sources included WIC providers, school liaisons,
medical providers, county parent educators, and other social service providers.
Data
collection and analysis are done for staff interviews. A total of 98 interviews
with staff were completed. Just over half of the staff (54%) worked at sites located in the Twin
Cities metro area; the other 46 percent were from sites in Greater Minnesota. At
least one staff person from each MIECHV-funded site was interviewed.
Four sites were
selected and interviewed for case studies. The sites selected for the case
studies included Mower County, Quin County Community Health Board, City of
Minneapolis/Minnesota Visiting Nurses Association, and Kandiyohi-Renville/Supporting Hands Nurse-Family Partnership. Wilder Research has
completed interviews with representatives of these sites to learn more about
how each site is working to recruit, engage, and retain families.
Again, many
thanks for your contribution to this evaluation project! Wilder Research will
be focusing on analysis and reporting for the next few months. We look forward
to sharing and discussing the findings with sites this summer.
