Accountability Secure Release and Appeals

Secure rosters with academic achievement, academic progress, progress toward English language proficiency, and consistent attendance data will be released by Aug. 20, as will the interactive North Star secure report. The North Star secure report will also include information about whether a school has been identified for support.

The window to appeal accountability data is five business days, including the day of the secure release. The acceptable grounds for appeal are calculation error and extenuating circumstances disrupting the usability of data. Appeals can be sent to mde.essa@state.mn.us.

Two webinars to review the accountability calculations and demonstrate the process of accessing the secure reports will be held that week. Additional webinar opportunities will be offered closer to the Aug. 29 public release date. The currently scheduled webinars are:

WIDA ACCESS Alternate Composite Calculations

As communicated in the May 14 Assessment Update, MDE provides alternate composite calculations for eligible students who are not able to participate in one or more domains (listening, reading, speaking, or writing) of the ACCESS or WIDA Alt ACCESS due to their disability. To be eligible, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Complete at least two domain tests.
  • Receive a valid score for each completed domain.
  • Have a Special Education Deferred (SPD) test code indicated for each domain the student was unable to complete.

MDE has posted a file in Test WES for each district that used SPD codes during testing. Districts with eligible students will see alternate composite calculations included in their file. MDE has also directly contacted the District Assessment Coordinator (DAC) in each of these districts to notify them about the file.

DACs should share alternate composite calculations with appropriate EL staff to support decisions about reclassification and exit from EL services. For questions about exit pathways for English learners with disabilities, contact mde.el@state.mn.us.

Student Assessment History Report Rollover

The Student Assessment History Report will roll over to the new school year on Aug. 14. After that date, no data will be available until districts submit their 2025-26 student enrollment data for the 2025-26 school year. Refer to the updated version of the Student Assessment History Report User Guide posted to the Assessment Secure Reports page of the MDE website for additional information.

Now Live: Minnesota Assessment Hub

The new Minnesota Assessment Hub (mn.mypearsonsupport.com) is now live. The Minnesota Assessment Hub replaced the non-secure PearsonAccess Next site as the website to access all Pearson services and resources used by Minnesota school districts for test administration, training, and reporting. The website is accessible to district and school staff, families, students, and the general public without a username or login. If accessing the old support page, users will automatically be re-directed to the corresponding Minnesota Assessment Hub page. Please update bookmarks to the Minnesota Assessment Hub, as needed.

Note: From the Minnesota Assessment Hub, users can still sign in to the secure PearsonAccess Next (Minnesota Assessment Hub > PearsonAccess Next) which remains the platform to create and manage users, set up test sessions for testing, administer the MCA and MTAS/Alt MCA, and access results.

Contact the Pearson help desk with any questions at 888-817-8659, or submit a help desk request (Minnesota Assessment Hub > Support).
