District and School Student Results Files Update

The final Reading and Mathematics MCA/MTAS student-level assessment results in the District and School Student Results (DSR and SSR) files are now available in Secure Reports. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the ACCESS and WIDA Alternate ACCESS DSR and SSR files will be delayed until further notice. MDE will provide more information when available in an upcoming Assessment Update.

Assessment Update and GovDelivery Reminder

The Assessment Update is now being distributed through GovDelivery to all District Assessment Coordinators (DACs) and District Technology Coordinators (DTCs) listed in MDE-ORG, and others who have opted-in to receiving this newsletter. FERPA Summer Webinars

The U.S. Department of Education’s Student Privacy Policy Office (SPPO) and its Privacy Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) will be presenting a series of webinars on Wednesdays in July and August. Upcoming webinars for July are included below. Select the linked webinar title to learn more and register:

• July 16, 1–2 p.m.: Data Sharing within the FERPA Framework. This session will cover the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act’s (FERPA’s) data protection requirements, its exceptions to general consent for data disclosure, and requirements and best practices for written agreements.
• July 23, 1–2 p.m.: Disclosure Avoidance. Join this webinar for a discussion of disclosure avoidance best practices and methodology.
• July 30, 1–2 p.m.: Demystifying FERPA: Navigating Access and Amendment Requests with Trust and Clarity. This webinar will focus on the rights of parents and eligible students to access and request amendments to education records under FERPA.
