With the increase in the number of new business and marketing teachers in Minnesota over the last several years has come an increased number of requests for guidance related to instructional resources that could be used in the classes they are teaching. For Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) to provide "guidance" of this type might suggest a form of "recommendation" that would not be appropriate.
However, in the consideration of these requests, MDE has developed a spreadsheet—in cooperation with statewide Minnesota Business teachers and participants in the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher Induction Program (CTE-TIP)—that identifies teacher self-reported instructional resources used in each course reviewed by MDE as part of the Program Approval process. The resources listed in this spreadsheet do not represent endorsement by MDE.
Teachers may request lists of teacher self-reported resources for specific courses by contacting MDE Business and Marketing Specialist Dean Breuer. You can also request lists of the resources currently identified for your own programs if you would like to provide edits for any recent changes made to those resources.
Good luck to the students and local chapters who have qualified for upcoming national competitive event conferences. Minnesota is proud of you.
