Please pass the opportunity below to passionate teachers in your schools and districts.
TeachMN is a new statewide recruitment and outreach initiative from MDE and PELSB with support from the nonprofit TEACH to help increase the size and diversity of our state’s teacher workforce. As part of this work, we’re looking for a select group of teachers to host one on one career coaching calls with future Minnesota educators. This paid opportunity is a great way for proud teachers to further share their stories, advice, and words of wisdom to help inspire and support the next generation of aspiring educators to teach in our state.
TEACH's one on one career coaching and advising program connects potential candidates considering a career in teaching to current educators so they can discuss all of their thoughts and questions about teaching. Engaging in real-time conversations with a current educator allows future teachers to gain valuable input and insights to complement what they read on TeachMN webpages and resources. Coaches should expect to:
- Work as a part-time, independent contractor for TEACH.
- Gain leadership experience to enhance their resumes.
- Work from any location during free time.
- Facilitate 20–30-minute phone, video, and email advising sessions with aspiring teacher.
- Earn $20 per completed session, including sending a follow-up email.
- Speak to their personal experiences as a teacher, explain how to become a teacher, recommend next steps, answer high-level questions about topics such as testing and financial aid, and point individuals to relevant TeachMN resources where they can learn more.
- Participate in a paid initial onboarding process and semi-annual training sessions.
Interested teachers can submit a TEACH Advising Calls Application.
If you have questions about this opportunity, please contact Jeremy Davis.
