Food Distribution Program (FDP) Special Bulletin for Week of September 30, 2024

Reimbursement for U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Distribution Fees

The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) Nutrition Program Services (NPS) is announcing that School Food Authorities (SFAs) will be receiving funds to help offset the costs of USDA Foods deliveries in School Year (SY) 2023–24.

Payments were processed in The Cyber-Linked Interactive Child Nutrition System (CLiCS) on October 1, 2024, and sponsors should see funds in their accounts by October 4, 2024.
Payment description will read "Reimbursement for Distribution Fees."
Payment amount will vary per sponsor and is based on the number of cases received at the warehouse for each sponsor in SY 2023–24.
The Uniform Financial Accounting and Reporting Standards (UFARS) Account Code to record these funds is R-02-XXX-770-701-400.

Note: This funding must remain within Fund 02 and be used for normal operation of the School Nutrition Program. It may not be passed on to a Food Service Management Company or Vended Meal Provider as this is reimbursement of costs that have already been passed on to the SFA or included in the fixed meal price.
