Notice of Potential Student Records Disclosure

In accordance with a court order, the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) must disclose certain information about some former students in Minnesota whose birthdates are between July 1, 1998, through June 30, 2001, and who received special education services between July 1, 2019, and July 1, 2022. Program Monitoring Process – Recorded Presentation provides an overview of what you can expect from the program monitoring process and describes the location of additional resources you can use to prepare for or complete required monitoring activities.

Evaluation Compliance Tips in a Staffing Shortage World – Recorded Presentation provides clarification regarding Part B and Part C requirements for initial evaluations, determining eligibility, when it is necessary to complete a reevaluation and evaluation reports. The training also includes general considerations to support an efficient evaluation process.

IEP Team Support: Present Levels of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance (PLAAFP) provides clarification, compliance requirements and age-specific considerations to support individualized education program (IEP) teams as they develop or revise IEPs.
