Contract Opportunity: Person-Centered Practice Examples in Minnesota Schools
Members of the Person-Centered Practices (PCP) in Education Leadership Team have developed a survey to respond to an opportunity for schools and districts to share information and video stories about person-centered practices in Minnesota. The Minnesota Department of Education will be offering $200 per approved, student- or family-centered story.
These stories may include, but are not limited to:
- Description of the person-centered practice or skill used with the student or family.
- Target audience of the practice.
- How the person-centered practice was implemented.
- Available PCP professional development opportunities.
- How did PCP training occur? How long did the PCP training take?
- How has PCP improved graduation rates, employment opportunities, increased integration or other specific outcomes of focus for your students?
- A student success story about how the person-centered practice impacted the student.
Your responses to the questions in the survey (https://s.alchemer.com/s3/Person-CenteredExamplesMN) will help us share examples of person-centered practices.
If you have any questions about this survey, please email the PCP in Education Leadership Team at MDE.person-centered@state.mn.us.
Alternate Assessment Coffee Break April 9
The Academic Standards, Instruction and Assessment Division will host a series of virtual coffee break sessions for Minnesota Test of Academic Skills (MTAS) test administrators and special education staff to ask any questions around alternate assessment, share your feedback and connect with other special education staff from across the state. Bring your questions and any feedback you have to share at this informal time focused around alternate assessment.
Join us for the next coffee break on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, from 4 to 5 p.m. via Zoom: 2023-24 Alternate Assessment Coffee Break Series. Please Register for the coffee break on the ZoomGov website. This month we will be discussing common MTAS administration questions and have a discussion around the new stopping rule for the Alternate Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA). We will be meeting the second Tuesday of each month during the school year. You only need to register once to join any of the monthly coffee breaks that work for you. The last coffee break for this year will be May 14 at 4 p.m. For more information, contact Alt.Assessment.MDE@state.mn.us.
