Ed-Fi Experience Survey Now Open
Please share your experience! One way of tracking progress and gathering feedback is through a brief survey that will be given to LEAs every six months. We would appreciate if you could take 10 minutes to respond to this survey by Friday, April 5. The survey does not collect names of individuals or districts, but does ask for some demographic information. Thank you in advance for your time and feedback.

MCCC Data Field Updates
New Fields for Course Selections
Virtual Indicator reporting options are true/false. Each section can be reported to match the specifics of instruction for that section.
Delivery Mode reporting options are:
| Code |
Type |
Description |
| GD |
On Ground |
The delivery and learning occur with the instructor and students in the same place and time. |
| OA |
Online Asynchronous |
The delivery of instruction is completely online. The delivery and learning would not occur in the same place and time. |
| OS |
Online Synchronous |
The delivery of instruction is completely online. The delivery and learning would not be in the same place but will occur at the same time. |
| HB |
Hybrid |
A mix of any on ground, asynchronous, and synchronous. |
The following information can be used as additional guidance for determining which code to use:
On Ground (GD):
-
Time: Teachers and students meet at a regularly scheduled time.
-
Location: Instruction happens in a physical classroom.
-
Example: Classroom-based within a learning setting.
Online Asynchronous (OA):
-
Time: Teacher and students do not meet at a scheduled time.
-
Location: Teaching and learning happen through a Learning Management System.
-
Example: Pre-recorded lectures, discussion forums, and virtual uploaded assignments.
Online Synchronous (OS):
-
Time: Teachers and students meet at a regularly scheduled time.
-
Location: Classroom meetings happen via a video conference tool and Learning Management System.
-
Example: Scheduled real-time sessions via video conference tool and virtual activities via Learning Management System.
Hybrid (HB):
-
Time: Teachers and students meet at a regularly scheduled time and may include asynchronous online component.
-
Location: This instructional mode must happen partially in the same physical location and partially online (either synchronous or asynchronous).
-
Example: Instructional time is intentionally designed to take place in both a physical classroom and online through either synchronous scheduled video conferencing or asynchronous learning through a Learning Management System.
The new fields virtual indicator and delivery mode and the field options for Instructional Method all work together and should all be considered when creating entries for the sections. See the document Minnesota Common Course Catalogue Data Manual for details of required fields by grade level and field options for all reported fields.

Reminder: MCCC Training Announcement
Minnesota Common Couse Classification (MCCC) Ed-Fi Data Validation Training
Training Description
The training content will be repeated every Tuesday and Thursday during March. Join one or more to help with your understanding of the data validation process for MCCC in Ed-Fi.
MCCC's move to reporting through Ed-Fi will change how the data validations are run. Validations will be initiated by the Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) instead of reactionary to a failed file load.
This training will walk through how this will affect reporting and what LEAs need to do to make this transition as smooth as possible.
Intended Audience
District staff who review and correct the MCCC course, staff and student data reported through Ed-Fi. This should be a person who has knowledge of the data being reported and how to make adjustments in the student information system to correct errors.
