Partners in Policymaking Application Deadline July 14

The Minnesota Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities (GCDD) is now accepting applications for Partners in Policymaking® Class 41.

Partners in Policymaking was created by the Minnesota GCDD 35 years ago and has been offered nationally and internationally. The program is designed for parents and legal guardians of young children with developmental disabilities and adults with disabilities.

Through informative and interactive sessions, Partners teaches leadership skills and the process of developing positive partnerships with elected officials and other policymakers who make decisions about the services that you and/or your family use. Partners is accessible, informative, and empowering. Since 1987, more than 1,100 self-advocates and parents in Minnesota and more than 29,000 people worldwide have graduated.

You can find Class 41 dates, information, and marketing materials, as well as apply for the program on the Minnesota GCDD website, including the ”What Partners in Policymaking Means to Me” video. The deadline to apply is Friday, July 14, 2023.

The Minnesota Department of Education's (MDE) Special Education Division works toward its vision that all children get necessary support for healthy development and lifelong learning; its mission is to provide leadership to ensure a high-quality education for Minnesota's children and youth with disabilities.
