The next P-EBT data submission for school year 2022-23 (SY 2022–23) is Friday, June 30, 2023, at 4 p.m. Please review the Instructions for Manual Entry and Bulk Upload and P-EBT Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) prior to submitting.
The End of Public Health Emergency (PHE)
The federal PHE for COVID-19, declared under Section 319 of the Public Health Service (PHS) Act, ended on May 11, 2023.
The end of the PHE impacts P-EBT in the following ways:
- COVID-19 student impacts are no longer eligible after May 11, 2023.
- Children enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) under age 6 in childcare are not eligible for summer 2023 P-EBT benefits.
- Homeschool and virtual students are not eligible for summer 2023 P-EBT benefits.
Summer 2023 P-EBT
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has approved Minnesota’s summer 2023 P-EBT plan.
- Schools can now enter data for Summer 2023 P-EBT benefits.
- Schools should enter all free and reduced-price lunch eligible students into the portal.
- For students to qualify for Summer 2023 P-EBT, their Application for Educational Benefit must be received by June 16, 2023. Applications received after this date will not be eligible.

P-EBT Administrative Cost Reimbursement Opportunity
USDA and Food Nutrition Services (FNS) regional offices are awarding funds to Child Nutrition State Agencies to distribute to schools and school districts to assist with cost of local-level activities associated with P-EBT. Payment amounts will be determined by P-EBT Portal Data for SY 2022-23, which will be collected after the July 31, 2023, deadline. More information will be available in late summer and announced in a P-EBT bulletin. School payments are expected in September 2023.
