Benefit Transfer Message

To confirm a student's benefit is in process at the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS), navigate to the Benefit Transfer Status 21-22 field under the progress bar in the student's record.

  • P-EBT benefit data has been sent to DHS for processing. This means the student qualified for a benefit and has already received or will soon receive funds on their P-EBT card.
  • P-EBT benefit data has not yet been sent to DHS. This means the student has not yet qualified for a benefit or an error is preventing the benefit from being generated.

You can also check the Sent to DHS field under the student's name. A green check means the student's P-EBT benefit data has been sent to DHS for processing. A red X means the student's P-EBT benefit data has not yet been sent to DHS.

Parent/Guardian Name Changes

The P-EBT DHS Call Center staff can only speak to the parent/guardian listed in the P-EBT portal. If the wrong person is listed, schools must update this information. Once the information is updated in the P-EBT portal, the new parent/guardian listed can call the P-EBT Call Center to change their address and/or request a new card to be mailed. At that time, the original card is de-activated and any remaining funds will be available on the new card.
