This bulletin includes trainings offered by community organizations and school districts. The Minnesota Department of Education is sharing these opportunities, which you may find helpful for your practice, but there is no expectation that you attend these trainings.
Community Trainings
The Center for Restorative Justice and Peacemaking | UMN Duluth is offering a variety of workshops and trainings October, November and December 2021. Topics include Restorative Lens: An Introductory Workshop on Peacebuilding Dialogue; Introduction to Restorative Conferencing: Facilitated Dialogue for Harms and Crimes; Deepening Your Restorative Dialogue Facilitation Practice; Restorative Justice and Sexual Misconduct at Colleges/Universities; Restorative Conference Facilitation Training; Hate Crimes and Restorative Justice: Broadening the Menu of Services; and Strengths and Limits of Circles and Conferences.
Trainers include Emily Gaarder, Ceema Samimi, Jake Oti, Katie Jackson, and Brenna Hucka, Ted Lewis, Mark Umbreit and Joel Friesz. Costs range from $10 for a one-hour workshop to $400 ($200 students) for a several-day training. Sessions have limited registrations. Conferences
Relational Schools World eConference: Guiding Schoolwide Restorative Transformation. Conference-recorded keynotes, workshops and panels by 40 international presenters are available through December 2021; 24/7 viewing access. Purchase registration tickets at $80 USD.

Minnesota Peacebuilding Leadership Institute offers ongoing trainings in trauma, restorative justice, resilience and self-care. Sessions are held monthly and as requested.
Coming to the Table in Minneapolis Racial Healing Talking Circles and Learning Sessions. Free monthly online gatherings. Donations are welcome.
The Inclusive Working Group on the Minnesota Cooperative Conflict Collaborative presents Monthly Jazz Sessions, an ongoing, honest, holding-space arena where community members engage in dialogic-jazz as we co-labor in bringing forth alternative ways of responding with humility and respect to the pain around us. Register for JazzMonthly: Positive Community Conversations. Join us on the first Tuesday of the month, from 3:30 to 5 p.m., CT as we continue dialoguing about all things de-escalation.
