Pupil Transportation Data Verification Report (DVR) for 2020-21 School Year

If you have not sent in the Pupil Transportation Annual Report, please do so immediately.

The Pupil Transportation Data Verification Report (DVR) for the 2020-21 school year has been posted to the Minnesota Funding Reports (MFR) System.

Please review the DVR for accuracy and completeness as state aid for certain transportation categories will be based on this information. Sign, date, and return the DVR by October 22, 2021. You may return the report by: Scan and email pupiltransportation.mde@state.mn.us.

To view your district’s report, go to the Minnesota Department of Education home page. Select Data Center/Data Reports and Analytics. Scroll to the School Finance Reports section, click on the Minnesota Funding Report (MFR). Use the drop-down box to find your district, then All categories, Year 2020-21. Then scroll to the Transportation Data Verification Report. Select List Reports box. Lastly, select the Report link to open the district's report.

This report compares data reported on the Pupil Transportation Annual Report, the Minnesota Automated Reporting Student System (MARSS) data submission as of September 23, 2021, and the Uniform Financial Accounting and Reporting Standards (UFARS) data submission as of October 1, 2021. If there are any Errors or Warnings among the data reported on these reports, they will appear in Part VI. Your district must correct any Errors. You may do this by resubmitting transportation data or resubmitting MARSS and/or making audit entries to your UFARS data. For any Warnings, you will write a letter of explanation.

The difference between an error and a warning: An error is something you can fix in one of the three areas; a warning is something that can not be fixed.

Districts should verify the numbers for students transported, mileage, buses and cost as state aid calculations will be based on this data.

MARSS The next EOY FY 2021 MARSS WES submission is due October 13. This is the last official end-of-year FY 2021 submission.

UFARS Minnesota Statutes, section 123B.77, provides that districts must submit audited financial data for the preceding fiscal year by November 30.

Pupil Transportation Annual Report changes may be done by submitting a revised report. Charter schools that have elected to have the district in which they are located provide the transportation do not have to do year-end transportation reporting. If you have any questions regarding the DVR, email pupiltransportation.mde@state.mn.us.
