New Child Nutrition Programs Questions and Answer Memo
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) released a new question and answer memo. This memo includes information and guidance on COVID-19-related Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP) and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) operation during the 2020-21 school year. The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) is developing additional guidance to assist sponsors with the flexibilities USDA is offering through this memo. Special Milk Program Non-congregate Feeding Waiver
The USDA FNS recently approved the use of non-congregate milk service for the Special Milk Program (SMP) in Minnesota. Under this waiver, milk may be served for consumption offsite when students are participating in distance learning during the 2020-21 school year.
