Community Eligibility Provision Applications: EXTENDED Deadline August 31, 2020
The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) allows eligible districts and/or schools in low-income areas to provide school lunches and breakfasts at no charge to all students, using simplified meal counting and claiming procedures.
- To be eligible, School Food Authorities (SFAs) and/or schools must have a minimum Identified Student Percentage (ISP) of 40 percent on any single day between April 1 and June 30, 2020. For more information on how the ISP is calculated, visit the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) MDE CEP webpage.
- The CEP Application Instructions for SY 2020-21 are available on the MDE CEP webpage.

Applications for the Community Eligibility Provision are due no later than August 31, 2020, for the upcoming school year.

- The No Kid Hungry CEP webpage contains resources for schools that are interested in implementing CEP in their school or district.
- There are two new online grouping calculators to help you identify the optimal CEP grouping scenario if you are looking to participate in CEP at more than one school in your district.
- FRAC has also developed three new financial calculators to help you estimate the participation rates needed to break even, expected reimbursement by district, and expected reimbursement by school.
