Face Masks Mandatory for Food Service Employees
Governor Walz recently signed Executive Order 20-81 which states that beginning on Friday, July 24, 2020, at 11:59 p.m., Minnesotans must wear a face covering in indoor businesses and indoor public settings. For school, day care and other child nutrition program institutions, this means that all students, staff, and other people present in day care centers, school buildings, district offices or riding on school transportation vehicles are required to wear a face covering. Face coverings are meant to protect other people in case the wearer does not know they are infected. There are some exceptions and instances where flexibility is given. Please read more about face mask requirements in the MDH Fall Planning Guidance. The last page of the MDH Fall Planning Guidance has a variety of web links to resources about face coverings and face shields for staff, students and families.

Website Change
We heard from you that the Sponsor-to-State Connection title on our website was a confusing name. As a result, we changed it to Sponsor Claims, Program Applications and Reviews. None of the content changed, but we hope this makes it more clear what information can be found in this section of the website.

SHIP supports community-driven solutions to expand opportunities for active living, healthy eating and commercial tobacco-free living. Specific to schools, SHIP works on policy, systems, and environmental changes that include food and beverage marketing. Overall, SHIP can provide partnerships, expertise, and funding to increase student and staff access to healthy food.
