School Nutrition Programs (SNP)

Now Available: List of School Food Authorities (SFAs) Receiving an Administrative Review in 2020-21

The list of School Food Authorities (SFAs) receiving a School Nutrition Program Administrative Review in the 2020-21 school year has been posted. Some SFAs that were scheduled to receive an administrative review in the spring of 2020 were delayed to school year 2020-21 due to COVID-19 and are indicated at the end of the list with an asterisk.

SFAs receiving a review in the 2020-21 school year will receive an email with a link to a survey in late August. Once the survey is completed (one response per SFA), your assigned reviewer will contact you to set up the dates of the review.

Several 10-minute training videos and other resources to assist SFAs in preparing for the administrative review are available on the MDE website.

School Nutrition “Back to School" with COVID-19 Webinar Series

As schools make plans to teach students this fall with allowances for physical distancing, school nutrition programs must be prepared to serve meals to students whether they are in buildings or distance learning. Join us for a five-part webinar series designed to get you thinking about what your food service operation will look like as you go back to school with COVID-19. The series will be offered on Tuesdays at 2 p.m. from July 7 through August 4, 2020. A different topic will be covered each week.

Each session will include some thought starters for a specific operational area, a conversation with a panel of food service directors and a time for questions. Read the session descriptions for more information. Select the links below to register for the June 30 SNP COVID-19 update and the webinars in the series.
