ESEA Federal Programs Update

Check Website for Updates

Please periodically check the ESEA website and subpages for updated documents relating to the use of Federal funds during the COVID-19 outbreak. There are currently documents on the following ESEA topics and we will continue to add to this list as appropriate:

  • ESEA Frequently Asked Questions
  • Title IVA Use of Funds
  • Distance Learning for English Leaners
  • EL Programming Implications
  • Implications for Bilingual Seals
  • Homeless and Highly Mobile Considerations
  • Migrant Considerations
  • Nonpublic Equitable Share

The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) is coordinating across divisions to limit the number of email communications to districts. To aid in this, we will not be using this listserv until the crisis has passed. All future communication will be done through document posting to relevant websites. Contact your Area Director or mde.esea@state.mn.us if you are looking for something so we can point you in the right direction.

Remind Your Superintendent or Charter School Director to Approve Grant Revisions
We want to help you maximize your flexibility by getting your grant revisions approved in SERVS financial!  Please remind your district’s superintendent or charter school director to sign and forward any Title IA, IIA, IIIA, and IVA application revisions in SERVS financial. MDE staff are able to review and approve your applications only once it is signed.

If you suspect that the delay has occurred because your superintendent does not yet have EDIAM access, they can find the information about creating an EDIAM account on the Minnesota Department of Education Website Data Submissions Page.

In This Together
We have heard of so many amazing things you are doing for Minnesota students, families, and communities over the last couple of weeks! Please reach out to your Area Director or mde.esea@state.mn.us if you need support with managing your Federal Title funds during this time. We are here to support you!
