Food Distribution Program (FDP)

Special Announcement Series #4:

FDP2 Launch and Opening of “Stores”:

Stores officially open on Tuesday, March 3. School Food Authorities (SFAs) will have only until March 19 to get their orders into the stores on the new FDP2 platform in the Cyber-Linked Interactive Child Nutrition System 2 (CLiCS2).

Do not wait until the last day of stores to shop for your U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) foods. It is important that you log in and shop for foods as soon as the stores open. You will still have the ability to go in and change your orders up until March 19, if needed. We have transferred users over into the CLiCS2 platform from CLiCS1, and we need to ensure all users are able to log in.

Upcoming Trainings:

Register for the next “Ready, Set, Shop Part 2” webinar on Thursday, March 5, at
2 p.m.

Sweeping of Pounds at Processors – April 1, 2020:

Balances of pounds at processors used for Net Off Invoice (NOI) will be swept and redistributed within the State of Minnesota if those balances are over 25 percent. For example, if a sponsor allocated 1,000 pounds of chicken to a processor, any pounds over 250 of the balance will be swept. If you need any of your remaining pounds over the 25 percent balance for School Year (SY) 2020, you must email by Tuesday, March 31. The email must have justification as to why the pounds were not used and your plan for the usage for the remainder of the school year. For SFAs that have under a 25 percent balance, but know they will not use all of those pounds, send an email with how many pounds you’d like to keep to

Processor Update – Lamb Weston:

A reminder that Lamb Weston will discontinue processing potatoes and sweet potatoes. If you are currently processing with Lamb Weston, look for an additional email from the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) with further information and deadlines.

As we roll out the new system of FDP2 and the opening of stores, we have implemented a phone triage system. To ensure the quickest response, please call the MDE Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) main phone line at 651-582-8526 or 800-366-8922 (toll-free Minnesota only). We will have additional support for calls regarding the FDP2 system.
