Surplus Commodities Survey Open Now Until October 25

The Food and Nutrition Service branch of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has played an important role in the ordering and procurement of trade mitigation products and has extended the program to include National School Lunch Program sponsors. As a result, Minnesota has opened surplus survey #36 in CLiCS 1 for sponsors to order two trade mitigation products.  This survey will be open through October 25. The products being featured are:

  • Item 110541, APPLESAUCE UNSWEETENED CAN – 6/#10
  • Item 110462, CHICKEN STRIPS, COOKED, FROZEN CTN – 30/LB  (Grilled)

Completion of this survey is voluntary. Orders will arrive January – March 2020 in addition to your 2019-20 spring and fall surveyed commodities. Because these are surplus commodities, sponsor entitlement is not a factor. All sponsors may participate with no entitlement drawdown, therefore The “Amount Used By This Survey” total will reflect $0.00 used.

Please order only what you can use for your program. Sponsors using Food Service Management Companies or vended meal providers are also eligible to participate.  However, the USDA value for each ordered case must be credited to the contracted sponsor.

For more information regarding these products, visit the USDA Foods Product Information Sheets webpage.
