New Meal Service Training Grant Opportunities for the CACFP

The Minnesota Department of Education is one of 38 state agencies awarded a Meal Service Training Grant (MSTG) for the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).

This grant supports our state agency in providing training opportunities on the infant meal pattern, infant feeding, and the grains food component including whole grains and whole grain-rich.

Live Webinar: Expert Panel on Infant Feeding – April 29

This live, one-hour webinar introduces the CACFP Infant Meal Pattern and the new 200-page “Feeding Infants in the CACFP” guide. In addition, the webinar features discussion on infant feeding from panelists representing CACFP public health partners.

Workshops: Infant Meal Pattern and Infant Feeding

There will be four in-person workshops on the infant meal pattern and infant feeding hosted in locations around the state. This training opportunity is designed specifically for infant room staff, but is also great for any staff that need to know infant meal pattern requirements and infant feeding best practices. All attendees will receive a copy of the new Feeding Infants handbook and a certificate of attendance.

Training Dates and Locations:

  • May 2, 2019 (8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.) Minnesota Department of Education, Roseville
  • May 7, 2019 (8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.) Lakes Country Service Cooperative, Fergus Falls
  • May 8, 2019 (8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.) Blandin Foundation, Grand Rapids
  • June 12, 2019 (8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.) Lincoln Community Center, Mankato

Audience: Infant room staff, monitoring staff, child care center directors, CACFP coordinators and any staff person new to CACFP (in last three years) involved with the CACFP infant meal pattern and infant feeding.
