Nutrition Program Updates: Week of
October 8, 2018  |  School Nutrition Program

Verification Reminder

Schools that participate in School Nutrition Programs are required to verify a percentage of the approved Applications for Educational Benefits each school year and report verification results annually to the Minnesota Department of Education. The annual process for verifying Applications for Educational Benefits should now be underway. Schools should determine the number of applications to verify and identify the actual applications. For School Food Authorities (SFAs) required to use the Standard 3% Error-Prone Sampling Method, a detailed email was sent on July 26, 2018 that included resources specific to that sampling method. Those same resources can be found on our Verification website along with many others to help guide you through the process. In addition, several Tuesday @ 2 webinars provide helpful information on each part of the process.
