Child and Adult Care Food Programs

 

Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Basic Training

This live, in-person workshop provides basic information on CACFP. The target audience is new directors, program coordinators, or center staff with CACFP responsibilities at child care centers and adult care centers participating in CACFP. Each workshop will be held 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and will cover the same content.

CACFP Basic Training registration is now open for the Roseville and Bemidji locations. Registration for other locations will be available by the middle of September. 

  • Tuesday, October 2, 2018: Roseville (Minnesota Department of Education)
  • Tuesday, December 4, 2018: Bemidji (Beltrami Electric Cooperative)
  • February 2019: Rochester (specific date and location to be determined)
  • April 2019: Duluth (specific date and location to be determined)

Summer Food Service Programs

 

Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) Claims for reimbursement must be submitted in CLiCS within 60 days of the close of a month. View instructions for submitting SFSP claims.

 

School Food AuthoritiesSubmit Health Inspection Reimbursement Request. Reimbursement may be requested for sites that participated in SFSP and received a second health inspection during the school year or during the summer. Submissions are due by September 1 and must be sent to Health.Inspections.Invoice.MDE@state.mn.us.

CACFP Thirty on Thursdays Webinar Series (hosted by USDA)

September 20, 2018: Feeding Infants – Starting With Solids

Presented as part of the USDA Team Nutrition’s free monthly webinar series called CACFP Halftime: Thirty on Thursdays, this 30-minute interactive webinar will focus on how the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) infant meal pattern supports growth and development for infants ages 6-11 months. This webinar will include information on developmental readiness and feeding infants solid foods in the CACFP. Certification of participation will be provided, and continuing education credits are available.

CACFP Trainers’ Circle Webinar Series (hosted by USDA)

September 26, 2018: Coaching and Mentoring Using a Peer-to-Peer Model

Presented as the first training in the USDA Team Nutrition’s free quarterly webinar series called CACFP Trainers Circle. These one-hour quarterly webinars will focus on techniques trainers can use to empower program operators with the knowledge and skills needed to provide high-quality meals and snacks in the CACFP. The first in the series, Coaching and Mentoring Using a Peer-to-Peer Model, will highlight effective training strategies used by the Kansas State Department of Education and resources from the Institute of Child Nutrition (ICN).
