Inclusive Education Week December 4-8, 2017

Governor Mark Dayton has proclaimed December 4-8, 2017 as Inclusive Education Week in the state of Minnesota. Please pass this information along with our heartfelt thanks to the many school and district employees who work every day to implement the goals stated in this proclamation.
Text of Governor's Proclamation
WHEREAS: The week of December 4-8, 2017 is designated as Inclusive Schools week; and
WHEREAS: Minnesota is committed to providing education in schools and classrooms that are welcoming and accessible to all Minnesota children; and
WHEREAS: Minnesota educators recognize that each child is unique and learns best if teaching is tailored to their abilities and interestes; and
WHEREAS: Educators and families in Minnesota have been working hard to ensure that classrooms and schools are high-performing and inclusive; and
WHEREAS: Through these efforts, educators and families in Minnesota have contributed significantly to building stronger and more inclusive communities; and
WHEREAS: The successes of Minnesota educators and families should be celebrated as we reflect on how to continue to improve; and
WHEREAS: Minnesota families and educators join with schools, school districts, and communities around the country in celebrating Inclusive Schools Week.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, MARK DAYTON, Governor of Minnesota, do hereby proclaim the week of December 4-8, 2017 as Inclusive Schools Week in the State of Minnesota.
