Last month's ESSA Update meeting

Thank you to everyone who joined Commissioner Cassellius last month for an update on our ESSA state plan. At the meeting, we shared a document outlining current decisions for the state plan, as we ll as an outline of the state plan template we will be submitting to the U.S. Department of Education. This led to some great discussion, with lots of input on what a well-rounded education will look like in Minnesota.

What's happening in 2017-2018?

The full ESSA law will not go into effect until the 2018-2019 school year, but there are a few changes that will start to go into effect in the upcoming 2017-2018 year. For more information on these pieces, please watch our ESSA transition year e-learning module.

Looking ahead
