The Service Learning Gathering

The Blake School Office of Equity and Community Engagement offers a free two-day workshop on service learning. The Gathering welcomes all adults interested in service learning to learn together about service, leadership, philanthropy.

Sunday, November 13th 1:00-7:00 The Pillsbury Room, The Blake Middle School
Monday, November 14th  8:30-4:00  The Cherne Forum, The Blake Upper School

Speakers include


  *  Drs. Jim and Pam Toole of Compass Institute
  *  Dr. Jenny Friedman of Doing Good Together
  *  Luanna Nissan of The Westminster School
  *  Rob Zeaske of Second Harvest Heartland
  *  Mike Troutman of Bread for the World
  *  Kelita Bak of NYLC
  *  Scott Flemming of The Blake School Office of Equity and Community Engagement
  *  Julie Rogers Bascom, Coordinator of Service Learning at The Edina Public Schools
  *  Boni Karanja of Light of Hope Children's Center, Kenya,
  *  Nan Peterson, Director of Service Learning at The Blake School.


Participants will do a hands-on site visit to Impact Lives, a local agency that serves the global community in many ways.

Dinner and snacks are included on Sunday, November 13th; snacks and lunch are included on Monday, November 14th.

For out of town participants, transportation is included to and from the hotel.
For all participants, transportation is included to Impact Lives in St. Louis Park, MN.
