Tiered Licensure Task Force Appointees Named

Roseville, Minnesota – Minnesota Education Commissioner Brenda Cassellius has named members to serve on the legislatively mandated Tiered Licensure Task Force.  Members of the task force are charged with developing policy recommendation to implement a tiered licensure system in Minnesota.

“The membership of this panel is comprised of education leaders committed to supporting the professional craft of teaching and improving the quality of education that each Minnesota child receives,” said Commissioner Cassellius. “I look forward to their recommendations as we continue striving to provide a world class education to every Minnesota student.”

The task force was created by legislation passed during the 2011 special session. The first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 3:30 PM at the Minnesota Department of Education.
