Sen. Bobby Joe Champion reappointed to IRRR Advisory Board

Sen. Bobby Joe Champion

Sen. Bobby Joe Champion of Minneapolis was reappointed today to a second term on the Iron Range Resources & Rehabilitation (IRRR) Advisory Board by the Minnesota Senate Subcommittee on Committees of the Committee on Rules and Administration. His term will run until Jan. 1, 2027. Champion represents District 59 and is the current president of the senate.

The IRRR Advisory Board consists of the state senators and representatives elected from state senatorial or house districts in which one-third or more of the residents reside within the agency's service area. One additional state senator is appointed by the majority leader of the senate.

"Sen. Champion has been a great asset to our board," said IRRR Commissioner Ida Rukavina. "I look forward to continuing to work with him and the entire board to strengthen and diversify our regional economy." 

Champion will serve with the following board members: 

  • Sen. Grant Hauschild, District 3. 
  • Rep. Roger Skraba, District 3A.
  • Sen. Justin Eichorn, District 6.
  • Rep. Ben Davis, District 6A. 
  • Sen. Robert Farnsworth, District 7.
  • Rep. Spencer Igo, District 7A.
  • Rep. Cal Warwas, District 7B.
