What you need to know Thursday, April 9 at the Minnesota House of Representatives
It’s a committee cornucopia today as the clock ticks toward the third committee deadline April 17.
The afternoon will begin at 1 p.m., with the House Environment and Natural Resources Finance and Policy Committee hearing HF3940, which would require an environmental impact statement for the construction or expansion of an animal feedlot facility of at least 10,000 animal units.
Also at 1 p.m., the House Education Finance Committee is set to consider HF3119, which would set a minimum compensation for teachers.
At 10:15 a.m., the House Taxes Committee’s agenda includes HF4841, which would expand Hennepin County's ballpark tax to add grants or county health care facilities. Also at that time, the House Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Committee will hear the judicial branch's budget request, HF3874.
Kicking off the morning at 8:15 a.m., the House Human Services Finance and Policy Committee will take up a delete-all amendment for HF1767 that would create a study group to propose a plan to replace integrated community supports.
There are five bills on the Calendar for the Day when the House meets for a floor session at 3:30 p.m.
