What you need to know Tuesday, April 22 at the Minnesota House of Representatives
The House got back into the swing of things Monday after a week away and most eyes have turned to the House Ways and Means Committee.
Today at 12:30 p.m., the committee is scheduled to take up the omnibus finance bills for judiciary, public safety, housing, commerce and environment and natural resources; the omnibus cannabis policy bill; and HF3023, which would extend unemployment benefits for iron ore mining employees.
Elsewhere, the House has an 11 a.m. floor session planned, though there are no bills on the Calendar for the Day. The House Rules and Legislative Administration Committee plans to set a calendar for Thursday.
Will this be the day there is a breakthrough for any of the outstanding House committee finance bills: education, energy, health, workforce/labor? In each case, a vehicle bill was moved along before the Easter/Passover break to meet the final committee deadline.
