What you need to know Monday, Feb. 19 at the Minnesota House of Representatives
Happy Presidents Day — a holiday for many Minnesotans but a regular Monday during session at the House of Representatives.
Four committee meetings are scheduled to get underway at 1 p.m., followed by a 3:30 p.m. floor session.
Here's what's on tap Monday afternoon:
- the Capital Investment Committee will hear about the asset preservation and replacement needs of its public higher education institutions;
- the commerce committee has several bills on its agenda, including HF3490 that would make the sale of human remains for commercial purposes a felony offense;
- the Human Services Policy Committee is scheduled to consider HF3533 that would require the Department of Human Services to develop a county-administered rural medical assistance model;
- and, the veterans and military affairs panel plans to hear several bills including HF3454 which would begin a bonus program for referrals that lead to enlistment or commissioning in the Minnesota National Guard.
A lone bill on the Calendar for the Day awaits House members for the afternoon's floor session. HF2757 would make corrections meant to help taxpayers now that filing season has returned.
