National Wear Red Day - February 7th. Fight heart disease in women by wearing red on February 7th and bring attention to this silent killer of women. We encourage everyone to wear red, raise their voices, know their cardiovascular risk and take action to live longer, healthier lives.
Each year, about 1.1 million Americans suffer a heart attack. About 460,000 of those heart attacks are fatal. About half of those deaths occur within 1 hour of the start of symptoms and before the person reaches the hospital. Fortunately, everyone can take steps to protect their heart–and their life or that of someone else. The key is seeking medical care as soon as possible. Attendees of the Act in Time to Heart Attack Signs class will learn about heart attacks and the steps you can take to increase your chances of survival. Instructor Cheryl Evans, RN, HealthWorks health coach. February 18th, 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Brookdale Library, Room C February 25th, 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. Government Center, EDC
