In addition to encyclopedias and databases in English to help with school work, the library also has two encyclopedias in other languages: Spanish and Arabic.
For students who speak Spanish, Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazgos includes full-text articles in Spanish on people, places, history, science, and more. It includes activities and science projects, as well as Spanish language newspapers.
For students who speak or are studying Arabic, Kids eLearn: التعلم للصغار is a general reference tool that has articles, photos, and videos. It also has games to practice concepts in math, science, and geography.
Maybe you'd like to learn some basics of the languages spoken in your classroom. With your library card, you can access Transparent Language Online to learn through self-paced lessons. Transparent Language Online has over 70 languages, including languages commonly spoken in Hennepin County like Somali, Hmong, Spanish, and Amharic.

It’s free to get a Hennepin County Library card, and anyone who needs to replace a lost or stolen library card can now do so without paying a fee. Students can get a new or replacement card in-person at any library location or apply online and their card will be mailed to them. Apply online for a library card.
