A different look at your government

Hennepin County joined 100 other venues in Minneapolis this May for the international Doors Open event, a celebration of architecture and history.

Visitors marveled at the 24-story atrium at the Hennepin County Government Center. At the Hennepin County Energy Recovery Center, visitors participated in a waste sort and other activities. Other venues included Target Field Station and Walker Library.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by. Staff are looking forward to participating next year and creating an even better event.

Healthy homes, healthy communities

In May, we celebrated healthy homes and neighborhoods by hosting a community build event and celebration in North Minneapolis.

In the last 20 years, the county and city have committed more than $70 million to fix lead and other health hazards in more than 6,600 homes. That work has prevented lead exposure for about 10,000 young children throughout the county.

Learn more about funding and assistance to keep your home healthy and safe from lead paint.
