Elected officials will take office Monday

Hennepin County elected officials will begin their terms Monday at an oath of office ceremony at the Government Center.

When

Monday, January 7

11 a.m. – ceremony for county commissioners

  • Irene Fernando, District 2
  • Marion Greene, District 3
  • Angela Conley, District 4

1 p.m. – ceremony for Hennepin County offices

  • Michael O. Freeman, County Attorney 
  • David Hutchinson, County Sheriff

Where

  • Hennepin County Government Center
  • County Board Room
  • A-tower, 24th floor
  • 300 South 6th Street, Minneapolis Map

Allow extra time for traveling downtown, finding parking and getting through weapons screening in the Government Center.

  • Special accommodations — If you need special accommodations for the event, contact communications@hennepin.us or call 612-348-3848.
  • Overflow viewing areas — Due to large interest in the Oath of Office Ceremonies, we may reach room capacity in the board room. In that event, county staff will be directing people to overflow areas within the Government Center to watch the ceremony.
  • Other viewing options — The ceremonies will be broadcast on MCN Channel 6 and live-streamed on hennepin.us.
