Greetings! We hope our newsletter serves as a resource for
staying connected to Hennepin County activities and staying updated on county
news and services.
As always, please reach out with questions, comments, or to
learn more about how to get involved. We hope you had a great Labor Day.
My best,
The board voted to approve a contract with Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid to provide legal representation to Hennepin County residents who meet income qualifications and are facing removal proceedings. The nonprofit will also use a portion of this funding to create materials in multiple languages informing people about their immigration rights during the booking process.
Hear my interview on KFAI's Truth to Tell. The host and I discuss the trajectory of this work leading up to the contract award.
The board awarded funds for bicycle capital improvement grants to expand the county's bikeway network. The project will create and improve recreation commuting lanes for bicycles.

We love sharing profiles of District 3 constituents who work at Hennepin County. Sorry that this column is taking September off. Be on the lookout for our next feature in October.
You're invited. In addition to our regularly scheduled board meetings, the County Board often meets for updates on Thursday mornings. These are informal opportunities to discuss emerging issues. No decisions are made, and topics are subject to change. Board briefings occur in the board room on the 24th floor of the Hennepin County Government Center and are open to the public. Call my office to confirm briefing time and location.
