Hennepin County will hold a public meeting on the proposed 2018 budget and property tax levy – commonly called the truth in taxation meeting – on November 28.

The county proposes a 2018 budget of $2.4 billion, $279.9 million more than the 2017 adjusted budget. It proposes a property tax levy of $796.9 million – an increase of $37.6 million, or 4.95 percent, from the net property tax levy in 2017.
The budgets and levies for the Hennepin County Regional Railroad Authority and Hennepin County Housing and Redevelopment Authority also will be discussed at the meeting.
