Five years of Fix-It Clinics save nearly 4,200 items from trash

Since 2012, Fix-It Clinic participants have diverted more than 28,000 pounds of trash with the help of handy volunteers.

A clinic hosted this Saturday in Edina will mark the five-year anniversary of the events, which teach repair skills, build community connections and reduce the amount of repairable objects thrown in the trash. Volunteers will be on hand to provide free, guided assistance to disassemble, troubleshoot and fix stuff.
