Construction underway

Earlier this week, crews closed westbound lanes of Wayzata Boulevard (County Road 112) between Willow Drive and Brown Road (County Road 146) and reduced traffic to one lane in each direction.

This traffic shift allowed crews to remove pavement - a necessary step before excavation for utility work to begin.

Pavement removal work from Willow Drive to Brown Road is expected to finish by the end of April. Once complete, crews will begin storm sewer work from Willow Drive to Brown Road. And, traffic control and pavement removal work will continue to the east toward Wolf Pointe Trail.

The project will maintain access for road users during the construction process, including to get to local businesses. Also, at least one pedestrian access route will be maintained at all times.

Pavement removal in the current work area from Willow Drive to Wolf Pointe Trail is anticipated to last approximately a month. The current schedule is weather dependent.

Please be aware that crews will be using large construction equipment, which will create noise and slight vibrations.

Signal system switch at Brown Road intersection

Next week, crews will continue temporary signal transition work at the Brown Road intersection.

While the system is being changed, all signals will be flashing red lights, effectively turning the intersection into a four-way stop.

Getting around and staying safe

It is important to follow the speed limits and signs, and stay alert in this area, including during evenings and weekends. Traffic changes, construction crews, equipment and work areas near the roadway will require extra attention from road users.
