Hennepin County Public Works will host a utility summit on Wednesday,
December 2, with representatives from cities in Hennepin County and private
utility companies participating.
The goals of the summit are to engage in discussions and develop
ideas for improving coordination and collaboration on utility issues associated
with road and bridges programming, construction and operations. The summit is a
brainstorming session for mid- to high-level representatives from local and
regional government entities and private utility companies.
“Next construction season will be upon us before we know it. The
goal of this summit will be to plan and minimize the impacts to residents of county,
city and utility construction needs next year,” said Commissioner Mike Opat, Chair
of the Public Works Energy and Environment Committee. “We understand utility
work needs to occur, but we could all stand for better coordination.”
Members of the news media are welcome to attend.
