Hennepin County seeks public feedback on priorities for protecting natural resources

Hennepin County has developed a natural resources strategic plan to help guide the county in responding to natural resource issues and developing policies, programs and partnerships that improve, protect and preserve natural resources. Residents can provide feedback on their priorities for protecting natural resources by taking an online survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/hennepinnaturalresources.

This is the county's first comprehensive strategic plan focused on the protection and preservation of natural resources. The plan includes goals and strategies to protect lakes, rivers and streams, ensure a safe and sustainable water supply, protect natural areas, increase the tree canopy and motivate environmental stewardship.

The full plan is available for review at www.hennepin.us/naturalresources. Feedback will be collected through August 7, 2015. Public input will be used to improve the plan, and a summary of the findings will be presented to the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners in fall 2015 as they consider adopting the plan.
